Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is going to start a short term course based on Puranas. This certificate course on the subject 'Ashtadashpuranas ke pramukh pratidya' will run in offline as well as online mode. This special course will run from 17 to 30 September by the India Study Center in the Arts Faculty of the University. UG and PG students will have to pay Rs 1200. The fee for teachers and research scholars has been fixed at 2500, and for NRIs it is $40.
With the aim of connecting the new generation which is getting away from the Indian knowledge tradition, the India Study Center of BHU will teach the Puranas to the youth. Different subject experts will introduce the students to the rare knowledge of Puranas by giving them information about the main topics of the 18 Puranas. Registration has started for the two-week short term course on the subject 'Ashtadashpuranas ke pramukh pratidya'.
Classes will be conducted in the afternoon from 17 to 30 September. During this period, subject experts will educate them on topics ranging from introduction to Puranas to creation and creation process, Indian knowledge, Puranic religion and ethics, Bhagavatbhakti, Rishis and Rishikas in Puranas, genealogy, pilgrimages, fasts, donations, greatness of Kashi, Prayag and Gaya. From UG-PG students to teachers, research scholars, NRIs and foreigners can also avail the benefit of the course. BHU has fixed different course fees for everyone. For this, one will have to apply online.
