Very useful, man!
Iβve seen so many dudes almost breakdancing cause the weight theyβre lifting is too much for them π
I prefer dumbbells over barbells as dumbbells help you in getting full range of motion. It goes without saying that barbells are best suited for compound exercises like Squats, deadlifts and bench press.
Barbells vs dumbbells.
Barbells have the advantage of showing you which arm is weakest on the positive and the negative motion. They also help to equalize strength across the body.
Barbells have the disadvantage of cross arm support so that the stablizers are worked less. They are also more dangerous to the user when lift heavy.
Dumbbells have the advantage of working the stabilizer muscles due to lack of cross arm support. They also allow the core to be worked differently by doing one side only at a time instead of both arms working together. Although one should train dumbbells as both arms and single arm work.
Dumbells have the disadvantage of not caring if the strength is equal across the body.
Train both dumbbells and barbells. Use a spotter if lifting heavey.
Make sure the weight you are lifting can be done with proper technique. If you mist contort funny to lift the weight, it is too heavy for you.
Please discuss your training methods and what advantages and disadvantages you see.
