Along with monsoon diseases are also increasing in the city. And as reported by TimesNow Dengue Cases in Delhi has reached a five-year high, with almost 190 cases reported in the city from January 1 to July 22, 2023.
In July alone, 65 cases were reported, followed by 40 cases in June and 23 in May.
The monsoon has made favourable conditions for the mosquitoes.
The Delhi government has increased fines for mosquito breeding in an effort to control the spread of the disease, with households facing a fine of 1000 and commercial establishments facing a fine of ₹5000.
Delhi has also reported cases of malaria, another mosquito-borne illness that can cause fever, chills, and flu-like symptoms. As of now, 61 malaria cases have been recorded in the first seven months of 2023 in the national capital.
So beware of the mosquitoes around you and keep your areas clean.
