Delhi airport will witness a temporary halt in flight operations from 10:20 am to 12:45 pm between January 19 and 26 due to Republic Day preparations. The announcement, made on social media platform X, cited a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) as the basis for the restriction, affecting arrivals and departures.
There are potential airspace curbs during January 19-25 and on January 26 and 29, as reported by news agency ANI. However, these measures will not impact Indian Air Force, Border Security Force, and Indian Army helicopter operations, along with state-owned aircraft carrying Governors or Chief Ministers.
With India celebrating its 77th Independence Day on January 26, 2024, heightened security measures are in place in Delhi. Notable dignitaries, including French President Emmanuel Macron as the chief guest, are expected to attend. Delhi Metro has also intensified security checks until January 27, urging passengers to plan journeys accordingly.
