And now, in his year-end blog post, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates also touched upon the concept of work-life balance and said that there is more to life than work. However, Gates realised this only after becoming a father. Earlier, the tech mogul was opposed to the idea of vacations and weekends.
In the blog post, Bill Gates touched upon the concept of work-life balance at the end.
He mentioned that he is looking forward to spending time with his children this holiday season and "recharge" a bit. He then added that he didn't believe in vacations or weekends when he was young but becoming a father changed everything for him.👍
"When I was my kids’ age, I didn’t believe in vacations or weekends. But as I got older—and especially since I became a father—I realized there is more to life than work. I hope you’re able to take some time this holiday season to have fun and relax before we dive into 2024," he wrote✅️
The Microsoft co-founder also said that watching his children grow up has been joyful and that they are "invaluable sources of wisdom in their own right". Gates also mentioned that sharing the stage with Phoebe, his youngest child, at the foundation’s Goalkeepers event was one of the highlights of his year. "I can always count on all three of my kids to keep me up to date on how young people see the world—and on the latest TikTok trends," he added
