The voting counting for elections 2024 is underway, and the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in all seven Lok Sabha seats in the national election till now.
BJP's MP Manoj Tiwari is leading from North-East Delhi, Harsh Malhotra is leading from East Delhi, and Bansuri Swaraj is leading from New Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri is leading from South Delhi, Kamaljeet Sehrawat is leading from West Delhi, Yogender Chandolia is ahead in North-West Delhi and Praveen Khandelwal is leading from Chandani Chowk.
The voting was held across Delhi's seven Lok Sabha seats on May 25. In 2014 and 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party swept all seven seats in Delhi. This time, the ruling party is up against the INDIA alliance between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress to challenge the PM Modi led NDA government.
The BJP fielded veteran leader late Sushma Swaraj's daughter Bansuri Swaraj from the New Delhi seat against Aam Aadmi Party's Somnath Bharti, the AAP MLA from Malviya Nagar in New Delhi. This seat is one of the most high-profile seats in the country whose voting list constitutes top ministers, bureaucrats and the officials of India's corridors of power.
As part of the 'INDIA' alliance, the AAP fielded its candidate on four Lok Sabha seats (New Delhi, South Delhi, East Delhi and West Delhi) while the Congress party contested from remaining three (Chandni Chowk, North West Delhi and North East Delhi).
BJP fielded MP Manoj Tiwari against Congress candidate and JNUSU leader Kanhaiya Kumar from North-West Delhi. In East Delhi BJP's Harsh Malhotra is contesting against AAP's Kuldeep Kumar.
Exit polls predicted a close contest between BJP's Praveen Khandelwal (BJP) and Congress candidate JP Agarwal.
