Counting of votes for the Lok Sabha election in Delhi began today morning. The general election across the seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi took place in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls on May 25.
And BJP is winning all 7 seats in the National Capital. In North East Delhi, BJP's Manoj Tiwari is leading, New Delhi— BJP's Bansuri Swaraj is leading, South Delhi—BJP's Ramvir Singh Bidhuri is ahead, in North West Delhi—BJP's Yogendra Chandoliya is leading, in East Delhi– BJP's Harsh Malhotra is ahead, in Chandni Chowk— BJP's Praveen Khandelwal is leading and in West Delhi—BJP's Kamaljeet Sehrawat is leading
A voter turnout of over 58 per cent was recorded in the national capital this time, which was a decline when compared to the 2019 general election at 60.52 per cent.
This is the first time that Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) contested in an alliance under a four-three seat-share formula.
Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP fielded candidates on four seats including Kuldeep Kumar from the East Delhi seat, Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi, Somnath Bharti from New Delhi and Sahi Ram Pahalwan from South Delhi.
Congress, meanwhile, nominated Jai Prakash Agarwal from the Chandni Chowk seat, Udit Raj from the North West Delhi constituency and Kanhaiya Kumar from North East Delhi.
The BJP candidates are Manoj Tiwari from North East Delhi, the only sitting MP from Delhi fielded by the party again; Bansuri Swaraj from New Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri from South Delhi, Yogendra Chandolia from North West Delhi, Harsh Deep Malhotra from East Delhi, Praveen Khandelwal from Chandni Chowk and Kamaljeet Sehrawat from West Delhi.
