Most stars explode violently in a huge supernova to end their lives. Some stars, however, experience a different kind of demise and are swallowed by the black hole.
The last moments of a star before it is swallowed by a black hole have been meticulously captured by astronomers using NASA's Hubble Space Telescope.
As per news reports, they saw a star turn into what looked like a huge doughnut, then be swallowed whole by a black hole.
A star is violently torn apart by the black hole's gravitational pull once it gets close enough, and its gases are haphazardly eaten while a strong radiation field is expelled, according to the American space agency NASA.
And this is what exactly happened!
