Bread Poha time 🕰️
Ingredients;
- Bread (6-8 slices)
- Oil (2 tablespoons)
- Rai (mustard seeds) (1 teaspoon)
- Urad dal (1 teaspoon)
- Channa dal (1 teaspoon)
- Curry leaves (8-10 leaves)
- Onions (1 medium, finely chopped)
- Tomatoes (1 medium, finely chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Red chilli powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Haldi (turmeric powder) (1/2 teaspoon)
- Maggi masala (1 packet)
- Tomato ketchup (2 tablespoons)
- Coriander (fresh, finely chopped)
Steps to follow;
1 Cut the bread slices into small cubes and set aside. Heat oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat. Add rai (mustard seeds) and let them splutter.
2 Add urad dal and channa dal, and fry until they turn golden brown. Add curry leaves and sauté for a few seconds until aromatic.
3 Add chopped onions to the pan and sauté until they turn translucent. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and the oil starts to separate from the mixture.
4 Add salt, black pepper, red chilli powder, haldi (turmeric powder), and Maggi masala. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 min. Add the bread cubes to the pan and mix gently to coat the bread with the masala. Ensure the bread is well combined with the spices and vegetables.
5 Add tomato ketchup and mix well to give a tangy flavor to the poha. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
6 Turn off the heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot!
Enjoy your delicious bread poha!
