Touché!
The thought among the patriarchal society that would have a problem with the gender, skin color, size and all the physical aspects. Be it if you are fat, they would recommend you to workout till you reach the ideal size and if you are too thin, then they would advise you to eat more. Be it anyhow you look they would judge you. The variation of skin tones that leads to many methods of beautification with many treatments to get the perfect color would lead to nothing but spoiling one’s own unique physical features.
This treatment of color has been there at all aspects of life, starting from schooling. This is what influence’s the next generation and therefore has been a normalized thought that is embedded in the minds.
A stripping of identity through physicality occurs when people judge through one’s size, shape or color. The stereotypes of being thin, fair and well dressed in order to be accepted by the society is there ever since the corset period. Where women struggle to get fresh air and hold herself tight packed while tying the knots of freedom to look like the perfect size.
It’s time to stop all these pieces of judgements and practices on the body that haunts the soul. This is something we need to get rid of, as its one’s own choice how they want to appear to be. We need to accept anyone as how they are and not change them through brutal and rude statements that rip their confidence off.
