Envisioning a more financially independent space for women, budget 2023 continues its campaign for women's empowerment.

Union Financial Minister Nirmala Sitaraman announced a "small saving scheme Mahila Samman Savings Certificate."

For commemorating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, this saving scheme is put in focus and will be available for a 2-year period up to March 2025.

This will give a deposit facility of Rs 2 Lack in "in the name of women or girls for a tenor of 2 years at a fixed interest rate of 7.5 per cent with partial withdrawal option."

It's a good initiative to promote women empowerment in India.
