The (CAFA) Futsal Championship will be held from 23rd JULY to 30th JULY in the city of Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and the first match of the Afghanistan national futsal team will be against Kyrgyzstan on Sunday 23rd JULY.

The Afghanistan national futsal team with its Iranian coach Majid Mortezaei, who is preparing for the futsal championship of Asia, had established a training camp in Iran a long time ago and then went to Lebanon for three friendly matches to play with the national futsal team of this country.

The Afghanistan national team won its first two games in Lebanon with the results of 3-2 and 4-3, respectively, and tied with Lebanon 2-2 in the third game. Lebanon is ranked 64th in the world and 12th in Asia and higher than Afghanistan.

Afghanistan's national futsal team, which is one of the best teams in Asia, has fallen in the Asian and global rankings due to the break in the competition and is now ranked 23rd in Asia and 94th in the world.

The teams participating in the 2023 CAFA Futsal Championship are all higher than Afghanistan in terms of Asian and global rankings. Iran is first in Asia and sixth in the world. Uzbekistan is the third in Asia and the twenty-fourth in the world.

Kyrgyzstan is 9th in Asia and 45th in the world ranking. Tajikistan ranks 11th in Asia and 57th in the world. Turkmenistan has a better situation than Afghanistan and is ranked 14th in Asia and 71st in the world.
