After Canada Soccer threatened legal action as a result of their protest over changes to the women's programme, the Canadian Women's National Team announced Saturday night that players would resume team activities.
US News reported that after declaring a day earlier: "The time is now, we are taking job action," players did not practise earlier on Saturday in preparation for this week's SheBelieves Cup match against the rival U.S. national team in Florida.
On Saturday, the squad met with Canada Soccer's representatives and legal counsel.
The squad released a statement Saturday night that read in part, "Prior to that meeting, Canada Soccer advised us that they consider our employment action to be an unlawful strike."
