Today is World Cancer Day. Its important to discuss about prevention and screening of cancers in Transgender population. Trans people are at higher risk of cancer because of poorer access to healthcare services including cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment. Trans people are at higher risk of substance abuse like tobacco and alcohol which are known risk factors for various cancers. Sharing some cancer screening recommendations for Transgender persons for breast, cervical and prostate cancer.
