In every sport it is often talked about who is the greatest in the game, and when we talk about the greatest it's usually the men who are named but then there are geniuses or the greatest players even in women who have made their nichè and carved a name for themselves.
There are so many factors in a game, from precision to timing and in the game of Badminton, it's what is Carolina Marin known for.
Well, she's my favourite Badminton Player and I think she's the greatest in Women's Singles of Badminton Player.
She is known for her strong attacks and ability to perform excellently in high-pressjre situations.
That what an ideal player should be right? Being able to perform in high pressure.
It's not about her ranking, though she might be World Rank 6 for Women Badminton Singles and 3 for World Tour Rank.
But it's her style which makes me like her, and I feel she has the potential to become number 1.
Because its a long journey.
Marin was won three World titles more than anyone else, and the Olypmics title, while she continues playing can get her to stake claim to the great tag, even if she's struggling to make finals after her double ACL troubles.
At 30, she might be the oldest of contenders at Paris, yet no one dare write her off anytime soon. Her speed is down and the aggression is far more muted these days. But a Marin at full tilt has in the past and will in the future, challenge the reigning names, and remains a dangerous floater in any draw she enters.
Carolina is a living legend, her journey to where she is now and where she's headed has been marked by much hard work and dedication, and I am sure she will leave her nichè in the game of Badminton forever.
