Hi Nate glad to see you active on Pixstory.
Firstly, by saying you overlooked something, it was giving you the benefit of the doubt in hopes you genuinely did overlook these things. But thank you (guys) for confirming with me that you actually hadn’t.
And also just a side note, you said “your words”. Enlighten me what “your words” were since all I saw was a quote from someone other than yourself. Apologies if it seems petty but in the end we all just want the truth don’t we?
I’m not quite sure the relevancy of your point which references the 2016 election’s “embarrassing” results. Let me explain. First I’m going to take the liberty of assuming your first point is in response to my first point. And with that in mind, your tangent about Russia’s collusion in the 2016 election is, well a tangent. My first point was stating that there is a difference between the pro-Trump protestors and the BLM protestors. It was NOT about any sort of foreign meddling in a past election (in case you were unaware). And by the way, the difference I’m detailing in my first point is on one side we have protestors who stormed the Capitol and listen solely to the president with no regard to how factually incorrect he may be in any instance, and protestors who are protesting for a movement (as unappealing it may be to some) that in the least advocates for fighting injustice.
Much of the violent episodes that occurred during the BLM protests of last summer can be attributed to criminals and looters taking advantage of the situation. I’m sure you’ve seen instances of this is the news as you both seem to be erudite. Frankly I find it shocking that you believe BLM protestors to be as bad as neo-confederates who show up with vans full of bombs and firearms. I mean you said yourself “many don’t know these are their demands” so why do you belittle people who believe protesting in the name of the movement, BLM, means simply protesting inequality rather than protesting about abolishing the police in totality, etc?
And I’m glad we can agree on the fact that violence has been condemned on both sides. Since yes, there’s been, in general a bipartisan condemnation of violence in BLM and the recent riots as well. Oh and yes I was aware of Trumps condemnation of the violence, that’s one reason I brought it up.
There are for sure those on the left who refuse to condemn BLM violence, but BELIEVE IT OR NOT you see some of that on the right as well. 5% (roughly 16-17 million) of Americans consider Capitol Hill rioters patriots. (This is from a Reuters poll)
Hopefully this works.
