It's a great day for India, as India's Chandrayaan-3, the countries third lunar mission has covered about two-thirds of the distance to the Moon since its launch on July 14, will now be entering lunar's orbit today (5 August), according to ISRO.
The Lunar Orbit Injection (LOI) is set for around 7 pm today. The space agency earlier said that the health of the spacecraft is normal and a soft landing on the lunar surface would be attempted on August 23.
Chandrayaan-3 has completed 22 days since its launch, leaving 17 crucial days before Isro attempts to soft-land Vikram (the lander).
Multiple scientists from the space agency TOI has spoken over the past month are confident of a successful LOI given that it has been achieved twice before in 2019 (Chandrayaan-2) and 2008 (Chandrayaan-1).
Now ISRO is waiting for the Moon landing on August 23, and its just not ISRO the whole of India and the world is looking forward.
