Charybdis: The sea monster

Charybdis was a sea monster that created whirlpools and sucked the seawater and everything that came with it. She was actually the daughter of Poseidon and was a beautiful women once. She angered Zeus and he struck her with his thunderbolt turning her into a monster with insatiable thirst. Almost no one could come out alive from her trap except a few greek heroes, Odysseus and Jason. She is associated with whirlpools in modern day. It is said that with her first sip she exposed the mountains, with second sip islands came out and with the third and final sip she would dry out the sea. She is also loosely associated with the monster guarding the Bermuda triangle.
