Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud said that there is no dearth of laws for the safety of women in private and public places. A just system cannot be created by strict laws alone. There is a need to change the mindset to change the patriarchal attitude of society. CJI Chandrachud said that we should promote institutional and individual capacity. At a program, the Chief Justice said that there is no dearth of concrete and procedural legal provisions aimed at protecting the interests of women in private and public situations. But strict laws alone cannot create a just society.He said that we need to change our mindset. The mindset should move from giving concessions to women to recognising their right to live life on the basis of freedom and equality
