Badakhshan, a remote Afghan province, harbors nearly 8,000 children engaged in hazardous work, primarily in gold mines, according to the Department of Labor and Social Affairs. Economic hardships force these minors to forgo education, undertaking physically demanding tasks for meager wages. Many children, out of school for years, express a desire for education and a better future for Afghanistan.

The Department, led by Abdul Saboor Foladi, has collaborated with aid organizations to provide education for over 300 child laborers. Residents call for permanent jobs for adults to address the root causes of child labor, emphasizing the need for immediate and long-term solutions to this pervasive issue.
