It's a cold Tuesday in Delhi, as the city woke up with dense fog and cold winds as cold wave strengthened its grip over northern India.
Dense fog enveloped the national capital, bringing visibility down. The minimum temperature dropped to 7 degrees Celsius in the city.
Very dense fog in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, East Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh and Odisha; moderate fog in isolated pockets of West Uttar Pradesh and shallow fog in isolated pockets of Chandigarh, Bihar, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tripura, the weather department said.

The visibility was recorded at 500m or less in Delhi and its neighbouring areas, with 100m in Delhi's Palam and 200m in Safdarjung, the data at 5.30 am showed.
The visibility was as low as 200 to 300m on Delhi-Meerut Highway in Ghaziabad. Fog alert was displayed at various points on the highway to caution commuters. The visibility was even recorded at zero in Punjab's Amritsar and Patiala. Similarly, in Haryana's Ambala, the visibility dropped to zero.
Delhi is likely to witness partly cloudy sky, dense to very dense fog in the morning, the Regional Meteorological Department (RMC) has said.
