I'm a member of the National Council on India Nutrition Challenges under the POSHAN Abhiyan that is chaired by vice chairman of NITI Aayog.
Working towards the elimination of Iodine Deficiency Disorder, the single most important cause of mental handicap worldwide according to WHO. I was able to co-edit about 14 books on Health Sciences and has authored over 600 research papers were published in different national and international journals.
Have been the founding member of the lodine Global Network recognized by the World Health Assembly as an International on-governmental Organisation (INGO) and has been the Regional Coordinator South Asia, since 1985.
The numerous accolades that I gained over the years nationally and internationally honours and awards that include the prestigious Dr.M.K.Seshadri Prize and Gold Medal by Indian council Medical Research in the year 2000 for the contributions to the field of Community Medicine.
