Interesting how both speaker and audience are white...
The convincing power of words can do enough harm, so rhetoric should be kept in right hands.
But ironically, it is used by people who only understand rhetoric as persuasion, doesn't matter what their speech or words imply, it's all for persuasion and one's own benefit.
The audience is sometimes or should say most of the time trapped in the deceptive techniques of rhetoric.
They're unaware of what is being said or shown instead they're forced to think a particular way because it all seems convincing and appropriate.
Rhetoric is only necessary if it is being used correctly otherwise we already have enough tools to deceive people.
