"Creep" by Radiohead is a song released in September 1992 as the lead single from their 1993 debut album Pablo Honey.
Creep is about feeling like an outsider, a creep, or a weirdo about a love interest that you think is too good for you. Creep by Radiohead is a song that shows us the inner world of the writer's mind. A person who has lost himself along the way, a person who has no clue how to get rid of his insecurities and see himself beyond the standards set by society. A person who always ends up comparing themselves with others. Someone who can never imagine someone falling in love with them because according to them they are nothing in comparison to their love interest. Someone who feels no matter what they do, no matter how much they try to change, they will still remain invisible in other people’s eyes. They have stopped viewing themselves as human. All they are to themselves is an outcast who won’t ever fit in. A passerby in other people’s lives. A secondary character in his own movie. And no matter how hard he tries he won't ever understand his own uniqueness, his own beauty. The song's lyrics are very self-deprecating; the singer refers to himself as a creep and a weirdo and claims that he doesn't belong in such a lovely world.
As there are many people who experience this feeling every day, longing for a sense of belonging in the world but unable to find their way, this is perhaps what gave "Creep" its notoriety.
