Cricket Association for Blind in India and Samarthanam to organize 6th edition of Nagesh Trophy from November 25, 2023.
The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), in partnership with Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, announced the 6th edition of the Men’s National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind, known as the IndusInd Bank Nagesh Trophy. The tournament will take place from November 25, 2023, to January 30, 2024. The league matches will be held across seven venues, including Jammu, Dehradun, Kochi, Chandigarh, Tripura, and Kota. Twenty-eight teams, including one from Indian Railways, will compete in a round-robin format.
This edition is a key milestone for CABI in identifying emerging players for India’s team ahead of the 4th T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind in 2024, to be held in Pakistan. CABI Chairman Dr. Mahantesh praised IndusInd Bank for their support. The Nagesh Trophy aims to nurture the best talent for future international competitions. Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka were joint winners of the previous edition. The tournament, launched in memory of SP Nagesh, has been crucial in promoting blind cricket in India since CABI’s inception 13 years ago.
