That’s some beautiful scenery!
Love these photos!!
Last weekend I took a little day trip to the seaside town of North Berwick. From Edinburgh it’s about 30 minutes by train, or an hour by bus. The town is small, but still has plenty to do, with golf courses, a museum, and the Scottish Seabird Center all right in town. The high street has lots of interesting shops to look in and cafes to grab a bite from.
Even if none of those things interest you, the views of the sea are stunning. If you look out over the Firth of Forth, you can see the Bass Rock, which houses a lighthouse and the remains of a fortress, and will be covered in birds during nesting season.
I had a lovely peaceful day wandering the coast and taking in the views. If you’re looking for a escape from the city, North Berwick is the perfect place to go. And if you’re looking for a dining recommendation, I had some fantastic seafood chowder from The Rocketeer by the harbor.
