Bangladesh urges international community for international recognition
Bangladesh Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmad urges the states of the world to acknowledge Bangladesh as an independent and sovereign state. “Bangladesh wants to keep a peaceful diplomatic relation with every state,” he says in a press conference at Bangabhaban. He assures of making a constitution for Bangladesh and promises that it would reflect the aspiration of Bangladeshis. He says that the prime duty would be reconstructing the economy of the war-torn country and to rehabilitate the Bangladeshi refugees in India. About the disarmament of Muktibahini, the premier says that these people (freedom fighters) would know when to hold weapons against the military and when to concentrate on constructive activities. They will be assigned to the national militia and other nation building activities. He also added that the advisory committee made with members from different political parties would remain as it is. That will not hamper the relation between the committee and the cabinet. Special Indian envoy DP Dhar visits PM Tajuddin at Bangabhaban.
