It's just getting hotter and hotter in Delhi! As the national capital experienced its hottest day of the season on May 5, with Pitampura recording a maximum temperature of 43.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
The heatwave conditions saw several localities registering temperatures up to 43 degrees Celsius as residents continued to witness challenges due to the extreme heat.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted no respite from the heat for the coming week, with clear skies and bright sunshine expected to prevail.
The maximum temperatures are projected to reach 42 degrees Celsius, while the minimum could rise to 26 degrees Celsius. Despite the possibility of some drizzle on Thursday due to a western disturbance, it is unlikely to provide any major relief to Delhiites.
On Sunday, the day began with intense sunshine that grew stronger, leading to the day's high temperature, which was two degrees above the normal average. Conversely, the minimum temperature fell to 22.7 degrees Celsius in some areas, two degrees below normal. Humidity levels fluctuated between 19 to 63 per cent throughout the day.
