With G20 Summit happening in Delhi, the national capital have got a complete facelift.
Although the summit is over but Delhi continues to be beautified.
A beautiful musical fountain at Baansera, a public amusement facility situated along the banks of the Yamuna was inaugurated by Delhi L-G VK Saxena.
In his address, the L-G emphasised the need for more entertainment and leisure destinations in Delhi. Praising Baansera as one of them, he highlighted numerous upcoming projects such as a convention centre that will be able to host 'summit-level meetings'.
The L-G also mentioned that a restaurant will be opened within the park premises soon.
Initially, there will be two musical fountain shows every week from Tuesday to Sunday at 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm, with a nominal fee for entry. Children up to the age of 10 will be able to avail free entry.
The fountain, funded and established by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) through its CSR Program, has digitally controlled LED lights with a 90-metre grid, offering various water effects and shapes through action jets. It operates in two modes: auto frequency mode and pre-programmed mode. During the day, the fountain showcases eight high column jets and one center-high jet, reaching 30-50 feet. Additionally, it helps aerate the pond water during daylight hours.
With the goal of enhancing the ecological value of the Yamuna floodplains and making them more visitor-friendly as a recreational and cultural space.
Under the Meri Maati, Mera Desh initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Forests and Wildlife under the guidance of the L-G, over 53 species of plants have been planted within the 'Bharat Kunj' Bambusetum along with 30,000 special bamboo saplings from Assam across the vast area of 12,000 sqm on the Baansera floodplains.
