In preparation for the upcoming G20 Summit in Delhi on September 9-10, approximately 6.75 lakh potted plants are being strategically placed to enhance the visual appeal of 61 roads and venues across the city. As of now, 4.05 lakh potted plants have already adorned the roads, while the remaining ones will be set up in early September to ensure they are in full bloom during the summit.
Several prominent locations, including Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, and India Gate C-Hexagon, among others, have undergone beautification efforts. This high-profile event is expected to host 29 heads of state, representatives from the European Union, invited guest countries, and leaders from 14 international organizations.
To streamline this beautification project, responsible agencies were designated to procure and place the specified quantity of plants and pots. Notably, Delhi Parks and Garden Society, PWD, DDA, NDMC, and MCD played key roles in sourcing and placing the plants.
Additionally, preparations have begun for installing G20 logos and flags representing participating countries along various streets, starting from Palam Technical Area, hotels, and the summit venue.
