The Pragati Maidan Tunnel in Delhi is finally open today, the tunnel was closed due to waterlogging from last week's heavy rain.
Public Works Department (PWD) officials confirmed that traffic movement in the tunnel resumed after thorough cleaning.
The tunnel was closed since June 28 after heavy rains lashed parts of the national capital causing waterlogging in several locations.
Additionally, the traffic restriction at the Okhla Underpass has also been lifted. The underpass was closed on Sunday after a 60-year-old man drowned at the underpass as it became submerged following the downpour on Saturday.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) deployed mobile pumps, super sucker machines and other equipment to manage waterlogged areas, with 72 permanent pumping stations and 465 mobile pumps operational in the city. However, many roads remained waterlogged prompting authorities to announce restrictions on some routes.
