Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) woke up to a cold morning with dense fog, impacting flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The cold wave tightened its grip over northern India, reducing visibility to 150m. Airport authorities issued advisories, and five flights were diverted to Jaipur due to adverse weather conditions. The minimum temperature in Delhi dropped to 7 degrees Celsius. Very dense fog affected isolated areas in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, East Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha.

The Regional Meteorological Department forecasted partly cloudy skies and dense to very dense fog in the morning for Delhi. The visibility was recorded at 500m or less in various areas, prompting cautionary measures on highways. Night shelters saw an influx of people seeking refuge from the dipping mercury levels. Flight operations were also disrupted on the previous day due to dense fog.
