Dharamshala: The Department of Health, CTA organised a panel discussion themed “One Life, One Liver” with healthcare professionals on World Hepatitis Day (28 July 2023) to explore the challenges and opportunities in hepatitis prevention, diagnosis, and treatment from the medical aspects of western and traditional knowledge to address the common misconceptions, further amplify the message, and reach a broader audience.

Every year, the department conducts a series of campaigns to raise awareness about viral hepatitis, promote prevention strategies, and encourage testing and treatment options to mark World Hepatitis Day.

As part of this year’s World Hepatitis Day celebration, engaging posters, banners and informational displays containing essential information about hepatitis were strategically placed throughout the event venue to educate attendees. Likewise, the Health Department’s nurses led various awareness activities in their respective settlements and schools.

The Department of Health ensured its continued and committed efforts in providing tests and follow-up services with proper counselling on the significance of immunisation and spreading awareness within Tibetan communities. The programmes are funded by generous support from the United States Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM).
