Development Begins on Prequel Series to 'Pacific Rim'

Legendary Entertainment is bringing the Pacific Rim franchise back to life with a new prequel series that will explore the origins of the kaiju universe.

As reported by Variety, the series is currently in development as part of a first-look deal with Eric Heisserer, the acclaimed writer of Arrival and Bird Box. This collaboration between Legendary and Heisserer is set to produce content based on existing intellectual properties.

The prequel will delve into the backstory of Pacific Rim, with additional projects anticipated in the future.
