Being born in a country obsessed with Bollywood, you cant just ignore Raja's pain when Alka Yagnik sings "Pardesi, Pardesi, jana nahi" or avoid a heartache when Shafqat Amanat Ali sings "Aiso gae parades piya tum, chain hamein nahi aae"; more so when it ends with "Mora saiyyan mose bole na".

Well, I have a different story to tell. This stigma is clearly overrated. Me and my love are in a long distance relationship for almost 2 years now.

Every human has some character flaws, and I'm no different. In fact, my character has several flaws.

Chats, video calls, greeting messages dont keep me entertained for long. I get easily bored of routine life. So, my partner suggested a lot of mobile games that we can play together to add some fun (and spice 😜).

Time to time, I get this urge to dance my heart out. So, my partner has to bear with me on the video call while I show her my crazy dance skills on "Chura ke dil mera, goriya chali".

I am big foodie. And so is my pretty lady. And we miss going on dates and binge on good food. So, now, we make peace with ordering for each other online. Pizza makes us forget we're not together.

We miss going out together. But we've been visiting so many different places through each other's eyes (read mobile phone camera).

Our love language is touch, and I constantly miss sleeping in her lap. The distance made us realize sleeping on our lapTOPS can be equally relaxing on a Google Meet call.

All this is fun. But there are graver issues in life too. Insecurity, trust issues, fleeting thoughts, my partner and I have fought it all and are still standing tall. It fills me with pride to acknowledge that "is zaalim duniya mein", I have a person who I can trust and be my authentic self with.
