😳
- Newborns can only see black, white and grey shades when they are first born, their ability to see colours develops later (nearer to 4 months).
- Your baby sees things best from 8 to 12 inches away. So they are near sighted. This is the perfect distance for gazing up into the fave of their parents! They recognise use their parents faces even from an early age.
- Any farther than 8-12 inches and newborns see everything blurry. At birth, a newborn's eyesight is between 20/200 and 20/400.
- Their eyes are sensitive to bright light, so they may not open their eyes much in sunlight or a brightly lit room!
• And don't worry if your baby's eyes sometimes cross. This is normal until your baby's vision improves and eye muscles strengthen. They don't usually stay that way!
