Former US President Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his 'groundbreaking' efforts to ensure peace in the Middle East.
This is the fourth instance when Trump has been nominated for this price.
The information in this regard has been shared by Republican lawmaker Claudia Tenney on her official website.
Trump's efforts to establish peace between Israel, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates through the Abraham Accords were acknowledged while nominating him for the award.
"In 2020, President Trump negotiated the normalization agreements between Israel, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, and Sudan, which were signed in December 2020 and January 2021.
Trump also worked diligently to lay the groundwork for a future normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia. The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded for the peace agreement between Israel and Egypt in 1978 and for the Oslo Accords in 1994. Yet, the Abraham Accords, achieved by President Trump, continue to go unrecognized by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee," the press release in this regard read.
Trump is the front-runner to be the Republican presidential nominee. Trump scored a record-setting win in the Iowa caucuses with his rivals languishing far behind, a victory that affirmed his grip on the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
In 2019, Trump was nominated for the Nobel Prize for his diplomatic efforts with North Korea while the withdrawal of the army from Iraq served as the ground for his nomination for the award in 2020.
