Donald Trump has warned of another World War ahead of the US Presidential Election, referring to US President Joe Biden as a "pathetic," leader, the presidential aspirant said only if he returned to power Iran would not be able to attack Israel.
Trump's warning on Friday came after Speaker Mike Johnson met him for what had been described as the latter trying to save his speakership.
While speaking from his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida, the Republican tycoon said, "What's going on with Israel, October 7th, and what's going on with Israel could end up in a world war. We have a president that can't put two sentences together. We have a president that can't find the stairs off a stage."
"We have a president that doesn't know what the hell he's doing. And we could end up in a world war. You know, we have just a little bit less than seven months now, months before November 5th. But that's an eternity when people are incompetent," he added during a joint press briefing with the Speaker. Trump also backed Johnson and said that he was doing a "very good job," despite Republicans criticising the latter on several issues including his stand on aid given to Ukraine.
Trump's comments came in the wake of the rising tensions and the reports of a possible attack by Iranians on American soil as well. Biden also warned Tehran on Friday to not launch an attack on Israel. However, Trump apart from blaming his successor's leadership, also accused Iran of amassing $221 billion to create ripples in the Middle East. A charge the 77-year-old often made during his presidency.
"With all that we've done, with all of the fighting, all of the death, look at what happened. How incompetent the whole thing is," Trump remarked adding that, "I don't want to say who I spoke to but I think it's a very, very dangerous period."
