Dr Indira Hinduja revolutionised Indian medical history by giving test tube babies to childless couples. Her painstaking research in IF and embryo transfer with collaborative efforts of KEM Hospital and Institute for Research in Reproduction gave India its first test tube baby-Harsha Chawda in 1986. A PhD in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer her modest background led her "change difficulties into opportunity as an 'aha' moment."

* Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer (GIFT) Technique-first baby in 1988.
* An acolyte donation technique for menopausal and premature ovarian failure patients-first baby in 1991.

* Established "infection in fallopian tube" in women and "erectile ejaculatory dysfunction and abnormal sperm count" as the leading cause of infertility in men.
