Dr Purushottam Lal, an internationally acclaimed Indian Interventional Cardiologist , trained in world renowned medical institutions in UK, Germany and USA introduced the largest number of interventional techniques as an alternative to open heart surgery in India. The Most Decorated Interventional Cardiologist of Indian history by the President of India, Dr Lal also performed the first case of Non-Surgical Heart Hole Closure (ASD/VSD) in the world. A Philanthropist and a crusader against unethical commercialization of medical services, he left a flourishing practice in the US to serve the poor in India, inspiring many NRIs to come home and serve humanity.
