The Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony witnessed a spectacle event with athletes from the competing nations being on boats on the Seine River.
However, the opening ceremony created controversy over the reenactment of "The Last Supper" by Drag Queens.
Social media users claimed that an act at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony mocked one of Christianity's most sacred moments - The Last Supper.
Netizens took to social media and slammed the Drag Queens for including a child in the "hyper-sexualised and blasphemous" opening ceremony performance that depicted the reenactment of Jessus' "The Last Supper". Slamming the event organisers, one user wrote, "Instead of bringing people together, the planners of the event apparently wanted to mock the religion of 2.4 billion people," whereas a second user said, "French depiction of the Last Supper is blatant disrespect and incitement".
The performances that reportedly depicted blasphemy, satanism and paedophilia did not go well with people worldwide.
People from across the world took to X (formerly Twitter) and called out the Paris Olympics opening ceremony. "The Olympics died tonight" and "The 2024 Paris Olympics has gone full Woke dystopian" were some of the comments made by users on the 2024 Paris Olympic Games opening ceremony.
