Chennai is the filter coffee capital but the eateries here are no less. Here are some of the places I have visited in Chennai where I loved their food and ambience -

1 - My top choice is definitely Amethyst Cafe, also known as the Wild Garden Cafe. The ambience is great as there is so much greenery outside and many tables to choose from. The food was great, I remember loving the risotto. It's a perfect place to work out of or even go read a book.

2 - Dahlia Restaurant is another great place if you love asian food as much as I do. It is owned by an Indo-Japanese duo and the Japanese food there is amazing. If you love sushi or bowls of heavenly ramen, do go try out this place.

3 - East coast at Madras Square is also a great place to go enjoy a meal. The first time I went there, I loved the food and the ambience. They also have a bar and some fun cocktails on their menu. They usually screen matches as well during cricket season.

4 - Aeseo Korean Restaurant is a great place for korean barbeque and other traditional korean food. The ambience was great and really well-maintained. Every table has a grill and it was amazing to have food fried right in front of us.

5 - Last but not the least, I have never been to their restaurants and always ordered in but my favourite for south indian food will have to be Murugan Idli Shop.
