Eddie Nketiah gets called up for England alongside 3 other Arsenal players
Eddie Nketiah has earned a very well deserved call up to the England squad. A fantastic start to the 23/24 campaign in place of Gabriel Jesus & fighting off other competition to that starting number 9 spot, has provided the Englishman with a fantastic opportunity. To be a part of the senior setup, from the country he’s captained before, and was a record scorer at (u21s).
Eddie’s path to the England & Arsenal setup for that matter is one of immense inspiration; the power of working hard, working your way up, waiting your turn, and taking it with both hands.
Nketiah came into the Arsenal team at a time of bother with Gabriel Jesus out for 3/4 months last season, where he thrived - scoring a brace against Manchester United, a goal against West Ham and more.
For a player who’s been through adversity, from being released at 9 years of age from Chelsea, to seeming 2nd fiddle a lot, to now be starting for the best Arsenal team in the best part of a decade, and to be picked in the most competitive position arguably, for club and country, is a fantastic feat.
A true message of hard work & dedication to anyone wanting to make it at such a level, a great message.
Joining the 24 year old with the Three lions, is fresh off the young player of the year PFA award, Bukayo Saka, goalkeeper in the team of the season, Aaron Ramsdale, and Arsenal’s new acquisition, Declan Rice.
A great message specifically with Eddie, and a time of pride for Arsenal fans, to see quite how far Eddie Nketiah & Arsenal have come, and continues to come.
Excelling, thriving on all cylinders.
