Goa Rehabilitation Board Chairman and Cumbharjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai on Wednesday said that education, sports and health are the three areas that he puts his efforts as a legislator.
He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Institute of Nursing at Montfort Academy, Corlim, Tiswadi on Wednesday.
The institute has been set up in collaboration with Rotary Club of Panaji and Veejay.
Congratulating the Montfort Academy for their achievement, Faldessai assured to render all assistance for their future endeavours.
“I only focus on three aspects – health, sports and education. In our constituency, more than 6-7 schools have benefitted from my efforts. I have helped Montfort Academy in many ways in setting up infrastructure. I have also used their ground on so many occasions, and they have never kept any expectations from me. They are doing a good job. I assure them to help them in whatever way I can. Many youth who have studied here have got jobs. The Chief Minister is supporting us in education and other areas. We will financially support you in your endeavours, we will get sponsors, if needed,” he said.
He also commended the new nursing institute.
“You have done a good job. While finding doctors is easy, it is becoming difficult to find nurses. The premises set up is very nice, every minute detail has been covered. Nurses who pass out from here can go on to get jobs and rise up in life. If any equipment is needed, we will get it from the health minister. I share good relations with him. Just make an application to us and we will get it done on priority,” he added.
Provincial Superior (Pune), Montford Brothers of St. Gabriel, Bro. Jaico Gervais thanked the MLA and Rotary Club for their assistance.
“We are looking to create awareness in society and also get people to enrol. There is no age bar and minimum qualifications. If we encourage others to enrol, and if we have more people with that skill and awareness, and if conviction rises, then we will have a healthy society with less anxiety,” he said.
