A Morgan Stanley note has pointed out that Musk has made most of his fortune from Tesla so far. He is poised to make much, much more from SpaceX.

The space exploration company is reaching new heights in rockets, launch vehicles and supporting infrastructure. Analysts say its innovation and ambition is setting it on course to becoming the most highly valued company in the world.

The privately held SpaceX could already be worth $200bn by some estimates, and its valuation could reach dizzying heights as it exploits a range of potential industries, including space infrastructure, Earth observation and deep-space exploration.

Musk, who owns roughly 48% of SpaceX, is set to go where no money man has gone before.
