I went to Jodhpur with my sister in August 2022. It was just the two of us, having a trip all by ourselves for the first time in our lives. The most famous and magnificent site in Jodhpur is, obviously, the Mehrangarh Fort.
Spread across a vast area, the fort was beautiful and breathtaking! It took us many hours to see around the complete fort and yet we were not satisfied and felt something was still left. It was tiring yet fruitful. A hot day for the body, but a cool day for mind, as it got to witness such marvellous sights that day!
After seeing the fort, we were really tired, but visited another site which was located quite close to the fort. While returning from there, we saw a huge statue of Maharana Pratap mounted on a horse, pointing towards the Mehrangarh Fort, which was visible from that spot. The statue was at a little height, with rocks and stones on the lil climb. Me and my sister decided to go there and explore as we saw people there and also wanted to see the statue closely and the view from there.
We went near the statue, and the entire city of Jodhpur was visible from that spot! We decided to sit there and just enjoy the view for some time. It was peaceful and relaxing. The sun had set, and a calm breeze was blowing. Slowly, the number of people from the spot also reduced and the two of us were simply sitting, talking and enjoying the view.
Yes the city was visible from the top of the Fort as well, but there we couldn't sit and relax as freely as we were doing there.
My experience of visiting Jodhpur was beautiful, and I'll never forget the magnificent walls of Mehrangarh Fort, but what the both of us cherish even more is the time we spent sitting there, simply enjoying the view and the wind😌
This taught me that it's not always the huge and great things that make you happy, but it's the small things that happen on the journey that become memorable✨🩷
