Manchester City player Erling Haaland who has been in the news the whole season for his wonderful goal scoring ability and spree has finally been on the news for the wrong reasons. Greater Manchester Police have confirmed a few hours ago that they are aware of images which show that Erling Haaland has been using his phone while driving. The City striker is under severe police investigation after allegedly been caught using a mobile phone while driving.
The media outlet, The Sun has released some images and footage on Monday which clearly shows that the Norwegian international was in his car during that time and the incident took place on March 15 near the Etihad Stadium.
Greater Manchester Police have responded to the report confirming that they are "aware and investigating" the alleged incident for which Haaland could receive a total of about £200 fine and also and receive six points on his driving licence if found guilty.
He moved to Manchester last August and since then has been settling in quite well in his new surroundings. He was last here at Manchester during his father’s time as City player. It played a major role in deciding Haaland’s future at City and this deal was worth £51 million ($63m) and since then he has been absolutely worth every penny for the club.
He is currently the top scorer in all competitions in 2022-23 for the club having scored a total of 42 goals for City in just 37 matches in what has been a great debut season for him. He recently pulled out of the European qualifiers for his nation due to a groin injury and since then has been recovering at England. But he could be seen returning to the field in the match against Liverpool on Saturday.
