I spoke in the very first paragraph that it's very unlikely. It's just a hypothetical situation. However you're majorly underestimating the power of AI to destruct. Lemme list some things that are going to happen, even if AI doesn't "take over"
could pose a threat to jobs: Like I said earlier, as AI becomes more advanced, it may be able to perform tasks that are currently done by human workers, potentially leading to job displacement.
could be biased: If the data used to train AI systems is biased, the AI systems themselves may be biased and perpetuate existing inequalities, which is something to be concerned about.
could be used for nefarious purposes: AI could be used to automate tasks that are harmful or unethical, such as creating automated weapons systems or spreading disinformation.
could lead to a loss of privacy: As AI systems collect more and more data, there is a risk that this data could be misused or that individuals' privacy could be violated.
could lead to a loss of control: There is a risk that AI systems could become too complex for humans to fully understand or control, which could lead to unintended consequences.
could lead to a loss of human skills: As AI systems take over tasks that were previously done by humans, there is a risk that people will become dependent on AI and lose the skills and knowledge required to perform those tasks.
could lead to a loss of creativity: AI systems lack the creativity and originality of human thought, and that relying too heavily on AI could stifle creativity and innovation.
