Fascinating world of vikings!

Vikings were one of the most feared people around europe during the early medieval ages. They pillaged, looted and killed many in their raids. And in all this they left an indelible mark in the history of the world.

The days of the week are actually named after the gods worshipped by the vikings. The vikings believed in norse mythology. Odin, gives us Wednesday from his other name woden.

While tyr and frigg, the god of war and goddess of marriage respectively give us tuesday and friday.

Vikings are also the originators of some popular words used today such as snort, anger and scrawny.
