Karim Adeyemih is one of the young prospects in the German attack. The German-Nigerian was integral to RB Salzburg’s league success last season with his 19 goals and five assists in the league.
He moved to Dortmund this summer for €30 million but has struggled to replicate the performances he showed last season. He can play as a striker or supporting striker and can play down the right as he has done for Dortmund for most of the season. Karim is a tricky winger with a dangerous left foot, great pace and dribbling. He is composed in the final third.
Current season form
Karim hasn’t started the seasons as he’d have hoped. He was injured at the start of the season and hasn’t rediscovered full fitness since he returned from injury. Adeyemi has started only seven games for Dortmund this season.
He is yet to score a goal in the Bundesliga or register an assist, but he has created three big chances. The World Cup will allow him to improve and regain the form he showed last season.
World Cup record
Karim has yet to make an appearance at the World Cup or represent Germany in a major competition.
He made his Germany debut last year and has played three times ever since and scored in Germany’s victory against North Macedonia. He’s quality depth for the German national team, should they need him.
Karim is unlikely to be a starter with the quality players ahead of him in the pecking order, but he can be crucial in the latter stages of the World Cup.
Careers stats
Adeyemi is young and hasn’t made many appearances in his career. He’s played 184 career matches and recorded 117 goal contributions (73 goals and 44 assists). He is undoubtedly the future of the German attack.
